Pretoro è un caratteristico borgo montano ai piedi della Maiella. Arroccato su un colle, sulla cui cima sorgeva l'antico castrum Pretorii de Theti, il borgo si sviluppa estendendosi dalla cima verso il basso assumendo la caratteristica forma di un ventaglio. Ricordato quale paese dei " fusari" abili artigiani del legno che realizzavano i fusi per filare la lana, rientra nei Borghi più belli d'Italia.
